Actor and director Kunaal Roy Kapur was born on 13th February 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He belongs to a Hindu Punjabi and Indian Jewish family. His father's name was Kumud Roy Kapur and his mother's name is Salome Roy Kapur. He also has two brothers from the industry which include Siddharth Roy Kapur and Aditya Roy Kapur. Meanwhile, Vidya Balan is his sister-in-law as she is married to his elder brother Siddharth. Kunaal started his acting career with television and was seen in the Hindi serial, Just Mohabbat. Later in 2007, he made his debut in Bollywood with a cameo role in the film Panga Na Lo followed by Loins of Punjab Presents in the same year. In 2008, he was seen in the film, Revolution and then it was finally in 2011 when he got his first hit with Delhi Belly alongside actors Imran Khan and Vir Das. Thereafter, he was seen in films like Nautanki Saala, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Action Jackson, Kaalakaandi, Love Per Square Foot, Hotel Milan, and many more.
